What is Barcode Beasties ?

Well.. Glad you asked... Barcode Beasties is a game played on mobile phones. Currently, it only runs on phones that run "Android" - and unfortunately that means only the G1 (or HTC Dream or gPhone or whatever you want to call it). But don't worry.. there are more Android phones coming out soon so you'll all be able to join in then..

Anyway... So what you do is pick anything up around you with a barcode - this could be your shopping, a CD, a magazine absolutely *anything*.. Got it? Right then, when you run the program you'll get an opportunity to scan that barcode in. Now what the phone doesn't do is then try and do your shopping for you ! No way ! What it does it create a monster - a beasty in fact - from the depths of the mathematics chip embedded in your phone - so that the barcode you have scanned will always generate the *same* monster with that same barcode, but different barcodes generate completely difference monsters....

So why then ? Well.. Here's the fun part.. Once you've got 2 monsters.. you can make them fight !

Right now - that's about the size of it .. but very soon you'll be able to fight other people
1) On the internet
2) In your neighbourhood
3) ( I guess the internet includes your neighbourhood!)

They'll be league tables of the TOP beasties, as well as local + country and also the ability to set up your own leagues.

Anyway.. enough of me jibbering away. I've got some programming to do !
