A few minor changes - it now uses a different web site to do a version check and also sends details of your make / model of your phone so I can try to fix any scanning issues / force closes a bit more easily (very frustrating trying to understand some of the comments in the marketplace). There is also a new statistic - "XP". It doesn't do anything on this version but soon will do. Watch this space !
There will also be a raft of privacy options you will need to choose from. These don't affect this version, but will effect the multiplayer side.

VERY VERY EXCITING NEWS.
I have just finished the prototype of being able to upload your own images into the game and use them as beasts (via - of course - a barcode) ! You will soon be able to print out your barcode "cards" and take them around with, swap them (if you know anybody else who plays) and generally make the game as specialised as you want. Fancy creating a version that has your favourite toys? Take pictures of them and upload them !
It is just in a pre-beta testing phase so I am keen to hear from people who would like to help me iron out any bugs. Please contact me through the testing links (follow "beta testers required" below)
SORRY FOR THE DELAY BUT WE ARE NOW BACK IN THE GAME!
I've not been here for a while - well perhaps in body but not in soul spirit or brain. But that's enough about me !! Anyway, the game is on, updates will be happening FINALLY now. It works ok on the Nexus (THANKS GOOGLE for sending me one after all that time!) and I hope it works ok on the Droid. I haven't seen or tried it on the X10 yet so if you have one, let me know if it works ok.
PLEASE comment in the forums, or write to me at comments@barcodebeasties.com. I read all the forum posts and reply to (so far) all of the email, especially if you have ideas or problems.

Quick Survey - only one question
I am thinking of putting up a version for a nominal fee of probably 2 dollars. This would assist in getting more stuff done quicker (as well as a few small server costs as well). For this amount, you would get a guaranteed level 8 or 9 beasty which you could save on the phone. Additionally, this would be in your multiplayer collection when that goes live. Before I do this, I would like to hear your comments - is this a good idea or would you find it insulting ? Please comment below - on this or anything else you want to talk about !

It's been a busy time....
If you hadn't noticed, there has been some much needed changes to the code for the phone. Finally, way of saving and loading to the right hand beast and also deleting from your beast list. From now, we'll be fixing only the serious bugs and concentrating on getting the multiplayer running. Its not going to be avalable for a fair few weeks though, but start collecting your beasts on the phone ready to send them to the internet arena.
Expiry removed. What was that about anyway ?
I put an expiry date on it for a few reasons. Firstly, as I was enhancing / developing the app I didn't want people to be running a way old version of it. Also, it helped me focus a bit and get more things into it ! Now that the game is stable enough, and has enough features for single player, I have removed the expiry totally so that it will never run out and complain again.

All I can say is .. version 1 is going to be very very awesome. And that's an understatement.

The final bits of technology are coming together now for multiplayer and league tables, power up cards, experience points, levelling up, an armoury of different weapons and a host of loads more stuff. But if you don't tell us your idea then we'll never know it! I know the android phone is great but it doesn't read minds just yet...
